So, Cardiff almost make it to the Premiership. Nice going. It would have been great to have either Cardiff or Blackpool in the Prem, I like the idea of a shake up, but Blackpool worked hard and it paid off.
Swansea AND Cardiff in the Prem would be even better for the rivalry, but answeer me this: Why not Scottish teams? I realise the Scots may not want any part of English football, they’re a proud nation (translated as they “dislike” the English, not a total generalization – ask me about the compalints we get for promoting Scottish business on a site called TheBrits.com) and there’s a lot of Scot teams that would need to be included.
What’s the difference?
Tell me if I’m wrong, but Wales is a Principality, no? It’s a thin line. Wales is regarded as a separate country, yet they have teams in the English Leagues. I’ve taken the long way round, but here’s my question… If Welsh teamscan play in the Prem, can we not have Welsh players on the English team? In my humble opinion, Wales have potentially the best team they’ve had for a while.
Let’s name names. Bellamy, Giggs, Bale, Ramsey, Collins would make my first team on current form.
I’d take Bale over Baines; Bellamy over Joe Cole; Collins over Carragher and Ramsey on for the last 20 mins if needed.
I like the idea of a Great British team. Despite the build up and the English confidence (pre-any matches) in our team, the only good chance of us winning the world cup would be with a BRITISH team. Just being realistic. It’s a shame that after decades, we still have reasons this can’t happen. Football can bring a nation together, it’s a shame the same could not be done to unite a Kindom… which brings up the subject of Northern Irish players… get your gloves on, Shay.
