John Mundy exemplifies the word fitness.
With over 20 years of experience as a personal trainer, John is armed with not only fitness knowledge, but also a positive attitude, winning smile and an engaging energy.
John consistently inspires his clients to achieve their goals of a healthy body, mind and spirit. His tough yet realistic approach allows his clients to see their potential, build on it and gain confidence and all the physical benefits.
John’s start into physical fitness began in a good friends grandfathers London garage. Lifting weights with a friend got him off and running. He joined a local gym within a few months. Seeing the results, physically and mentally – muscle development and a huge boost of confidence – as well as enjoying weight training, he connected with the more experienced athletes, learning all he could from them. John began working part-time at the gym and continued his exercise regime. Before long he was competing in – and winning – body building competitions.
One of John’s dreams was to live in America… in 1990 his dream came true and he arrived in Los Angeles, CA. Still competing in body building competitions, he gravitated to the west side and soon became a member at Gold’s Gym Venice Beach “The Mecca of Body Building.” John put his nose to the grindstone and became a student of fitness. As was his inspiration and encouragement in England, he sought to learn from those who walked before him, connecting with the people who found success in the health and fitness industry, he learned more about the importance & benefits of combining nutrition with cardiovascular exercise along with a good weight lifting program. The natural progression was to get certified in California.
After spending some time working for a small personal training company, John set out on his own. World Gym, another well known historic gym in Venice, invited him and his clients to join their “family.” This was a truly amazing experience… World Gym, and so many of the people who ran it, had been around before the explosion of the fitness phenomena as we know now. John worked at the World Gym until the day they closed their doors for the last time. Moving to Gold’s Gym was the next obvious step – Gold’s, like World Gym, made the transition smooth and effortless for John and his clients. “Only in America” John likes to remember. His dreams have come true on so many levels.
In 2008, John moved to Dallas with his wife and 2 children, Georgia, 7 and Jack, 5. Again, relying on the locals, he was led to several fantastic gyms. He made a quick and easy connection with Park Cities Personal Training, as well as its sister location, Lakewood Gym. The gyms are run by great people as well as attracting clientele who are real, sincere and serious about their fitness.
John has experience training people of all ages – from young in years at 15 through those young at heart up to 90! He likes to keep his clients interested, not bored… challenged not tired, so he likes to “switch it up” – running, biking, boxing, weight training, climbing stairs. etc.
As a personal trainer, John always goes the extra mile with his clients – inspiring each person not only at the gym, but when they are in their own routine. Because the results that are so hard to attain, can so easily be lost, staying connected is the best way to stay on track.
